Today marks the beginning of an unforgettable journey as you arrive in Fez, either through the bustling airport or via private transportation, setting the stage for an immersive experience in one of Morocco's oldest and most enchanting cities. Fez, often hailed as the cultural and spiritual heartbeat of Morocco, invites you into a world where ancient traditions blend seamlessly with the vibrancy of modern life.

Private Transfer to Your Riad

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a private transfer service that will whisk you away from the noisy streets and into the serene embrace of your chosen Riad. The term “Riad” refers to a traditional Moroccan home characterized by its inward-facing architecture, often centered around a courtyard garden. Dinner at Your Riad

Dinner at your Riad promises to be a culinary delight, showcasing the nuances of Moroccan cuisine. Traditional dishes, such as tagines bursting with flavors, fragrant couscous, and sweet pastilla, are often accompanied by refreshing mint tea, an emblem of hospitality in Moroccan culture. Sharing a meal in this intimate setting allows for a deeper connection with your surroundings, offering insights into the local customs and the art of food preparation that has been passed down through generations.

Today you will meet your guide after breakfast at around 9:00 am for an exciting but yet very educational tour of Fez. The tour last approximately 6 hours including a stop for lunch.

Explore the Medina of Fez

Our adventure begins in the heart of the Medina of Fez, an intricate maze of narrow streets, bustling markets, and traditional workshops. As we wander through this UNESCO site, the vibrant atmosphere fills the air with the scent of spices and the sound of artisans at work. Each corner reveals hidden gems, from beautiful mosaics to intricate carvings that showcase the craftsmanship of generations.

Visit University of Al Quaraouiyine

Next, we visit the University of Al Quaraouiyine, founded by the remarkable woman Fatima al-Fihri in 859 AD. This institution is not only the oldest existing university in the world but also a symbol of women's empowerment in education. Walking through its ancient courtyard, one can feel the weight of its scholarly history, where prominent thinkers and scholars have studied and shared knowledge for centuries.

Royal Palace Visit (Exterior)

Our tour continues to the Royal Palace, a stunning example of Moroccan architecture with its grand gates and beautifully landscaped gardens. Although we can't enter the palace itself, the exterior is enough to leave us in awe of the monarch's prestigious residence, rich with history and cultural significance.

Chouara Tannery Experience

One of the most memorable stops is the Chouara Tannery, where the ancient practices of leather tanning come alive. The vibrant colors of the leather on display—reds, yellows, and blues—create a breathtaking sight against the backdrop of the labyrinthine workshop. Visitors can observe artisans skillfully crafting leather goods, an art form that has been passed down through generations.

Aben Danan Synagogue Visit

A visit to Fez wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the Aben Danan Synagogue, one of the city's last remnants of its once-flourishing Jewish community. The synagogue reflects the coexistence of cultural and religious traditions in Fez, and walking through its halls offers insights into the city's diverse history.

Born Nord Museum

As our tour nears its end, we stop at the Born Nord Museum. This museum housed in a restored riad, presents a fascinating collection of Moroccan art, artifacts, and history. It's an opportunity to further appreciate the depth of Fez's cultural identity and its contribution to the broader Moroccan tapestry.

Lunch at Local Eatery

To cap off our adventure, our guide leads us to a local eatery famous for its authentic Moroccan cuisine. We indulge in traditional dishes such as tagine, couscous, and pastilla, bursting with flavors that truly represent the essence of Moroccan hospitality. Sharing a meal in this vibrant setting enhances our experience, allowing us to connect with the warmth and spirit of the local culture.

Wear comfortable walking shoes. Please stay close to your guide while walking through the souks. The streets are very narrow and extremely busy. Your guide will take you to a restaurant for lunch, however it is not included in the price of the tour. Entry fees to any of the museums or attractions are not included in the price of the tour, however most are free or have a very small entrance fee of under 12 dollars. The tannery has a very strong odor. You will be given mint leaves to smell that cuts the strong odor. If you choose to sit out this part of the tour your guide will help you find a place to relax for a moment.

Journey from Fez to Chefchaouen via Volubilis

Depart Fez for Chefchaouen Volubilis

Today we set out for Chefchaouen by way of Meknes and Volubillis. After a delicious breakfast in your Riad you will depart for Chefchaouen around 9:00 AM. The first destination is Meknes, one of Morocco's imperial cities. Known for its historic medina, Meknes offers a glimpse into the glorious past of the Moroccan monarchy. Upon arrival, visitors can marvel at the grand Bab Mansour gate, which is a stunning example of Moroccan architecture. This impressive gateway, adorned with intricate tile work and archways, serves as a fitting introduction to the city.

Visit Volubilis Roman Ruins

After soaking in the sights of Meknes, the next stop is the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, located about 30 minutes away. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Volubilis is one of the best-preserved archaeological sites in Morocco. As visitors walk among the remnants of Roman columns and intricate mosaics, they are transported back in time to when this city was a bustling hub of trade and culture.

Continue to Chefchaouen

After exploring Meknes and Volubilis, the journey continues towards Chefchaouen, famous for its blue-washed buildings nestled in the Rif Mountains. This picturesque city is known for its laid-back atmosphere and stunning views. Upon arrival, check into your riad then wander through the narrow streets lined with blue hues. Each corner reveals new artistic details and local shops selling handmade crafts.

Dinner at Your Riad in Chefchaouen

After a little exploring dinner will be served in your riad before retiring for the evening.

Drive time between Fez and Chefchaouen is approximately 3hours and 30 minutes not including stops. Breakfast and Dinner is included today. Your driver will hire a guide for you to visit the ruins of Volubillis. You will stop along the way for lunch. .

Chefchaouen to Rabat Transfer

After a wonderful Moroccan breakfast in your Riad, your driver will meet you at your hotel around 9:00 am to take you to your next stop, Rabat. Today you will be driving approximately 4 hours making many stops along the way for pictures and to rest a little.

Arrival and Exploration in Rabat

Once you arrive in Rabat you will check into your Riad for the evening. Explore the surrounding area as it is close to your Riad the small souks, Oudayas Museum and the Andalusia Gardens. Afterwords enjoy a lovely dinner in the Riad.

Although the ride today is long it will be broken up by many stops along the way. Breakfast and Dinner are included today. The area around the Riad is easy to navigate and the city is very safe.

Get ready for an exhilarating morning as we explore Rabat, the vibrant capital of Morocco! Our tour will take us to the magnificent Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the iconic Hassan Tower, the serene Andalusian Gardens, and the fascinating Oudayas National Museum.

Journey from Rabat to Marrakech via Casablanca

Depart Rabat for Marrakech via Casablanca

Today we say goodbye Rabat as we make our way to Marrakech by way of Casablanca. Your driver will arrive around 9:00 AM to help everyone get ready for the trip to Marrakech. You will make a stop in Casablanca to visit the Hassan II Mosque. In February of 2027 Muslims around the world will observe the holy month of Ramadan. Due to the timing of the tour, the mosque may be closed to non-Muslims. However, simply walking around the mosque is a wonderful experience. If you are able to take a guided tour of the mosque, the cost will be $15 (not included in the tour price). Please remember to bring a scarf to cover your hair and wear clothing that covers your shoulders and extends below your knees.

Lunch Stop in Casablanca

After visiting the mosque, you will stop for lunch before continuing your journey to Marrakech.

Arrival and Check-in at Marrakech Hotel

Your driver will take you to your guesthouse or hotel for the night. Once you have checked in, take some time to relax and prepare for your journey home. Dinner will be served at the hotel this evening.

Travel time to Marrakech is approximately four hours. Please remember to bring a scarf for your hair. Breakfast and dinner are included today. You will be saying goodbye to your driver today, so please tip him before he leaves. Your checkout time is at 10:00 AM, so you will need to depart for the airport before that time. Please let us know your flight information so we can arrange your transfer to the airport.
