About Us

Day 1 - M'hamid to Sidi Naji via Ras Nekhale

Begin Sahara Trek: M'hamid to Sidi Naji

Begin trek from M'Hamid

Your trek will begin around 9:00 in the morning at the meeting point in M'Hamid. Watch as the final gear is carefully loaded onto the trusted and sure-footed dromedaries as you prepare for this exciting adventure. Once everything is situated just right, we will start out for about a 2-hour walk into the beautiful Sahara.

Rest stop at Ras Nekhale

Our first stop is Ras Nekhale, an area with shady trees where we will stop and rest while a wonderful lunch is prepared. After lunch, take a moment to rest and enjoy a cup of tea before we continue our trek.

Trek to Sidi Naji and camp setup

After about 2 hours of walking, we will arrive at Sidi Naji, a shrine for the nomadic people of the Sahara. We will make camp for the night here. As you set up your tent (provided), your guides will prepare an amazing dinner for you. Dine under a starlit night sky and enjoy the sounds of authentic Bedouin songs around a glowing campfire before retiring for the evening.

Day 2 - Sidi Naji to Erg Zahar

Trek from Sidi Naji to Erg Zahar Dunes

Morning trek from Sidi Naji

Rise in the morning to a spectacular sunrise! After a delicious breakfast we will breakdown camp and load the camels and start a trek towards Erg Zahar. We will walk about 2-3 hours before resting for lunch in an area that has large Tamarisks trees.

After a long rest and a cup of tea we will continue on to the large dunes of Erg Zahar.

We will make camp in Erg Zahar for the next 2 nights. This evening enjoy the sunset from the top of the highest dune. After the sun sets, dinner will be enjoyed under the stars. After dinner sit by the campfire and listen to the music of the desert.

Day 3 - Erg Zahar

Explore Erg Zahar and Nomadic Villages

Trek and explore Erg Zahar area

After a brilliant sunrise and an amazing breakfast we will trek and explore the area around Erg Zahr. You will have the choice to trek to the old nomadic village of Erg Smar or to the well at the River Draa. You may even choose to spend the day relaxing in peacefulness of the camp.

That evening take in another breathtaking sunset over the dunes of Erg Zahar then return to camp. You might have the chance to try your hand at making sand bread for tonight's dinner.

Before you retire for the evening enjoy good conversation around the campfire.

Day 4 - Erg Zahar to Oued Nam

Trek from Erg Zahar to Oued Nam Dunes

Morning trek from Erg Zahar

This morning after beautiful breakfast we will load the camels making sure to leave nothing behind as we set out for Oued Nam.

Lunch and rest en route

We will walk about 2 1/2 hours before stopping for lunch in a beautiful area. Once we have rested and been refreshed we will continue onward to Oued Nam.

This small dune area is known for its Tamarisk trees and is a beautiful spot to camp for the night. Once camp is set up, do a little exploring while dinner is prepared.

Camp for the night at Oued Nam. Tents, mattress, and linens will be provided for wild camping under the stars.

Day 5 - Ouad Nam to M'Hamid

Return Trek from Ouad Nam to M'Hamid

Morning trek from Ouad Nam

Wake to a delicious breakfast and a beautiful sunrise on your last morning in the Sahara. Today we load the camels as we trek back to M'hamid stoping for lunch and rest along the way.

Arrive at M'Hamid and overnight at fixed camp

Once we reach M'Hamid we will return to the fixed camp for a well deserved shower and overnight stay at the fixed camp.
